Utah Jazz wing Donovan Mitchell took his best shot at trying to woo actress Zendaya on Twitter, but he came up empty, and his teammate, Rudy Gobert, made sure to let him hear about it.

Mitchell initially quote tweeted Zendaya as she celebrated the return of Spider-Man to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and then Gobert roasted his teammate:

Hopefully, the Jazz have better luck this coming season than Mitchell has had with Zendaya. Based on the moves they have made this summer, they almost certainly will.

Following a 2018-19 campaign in which Utah won 50 games and was eliminated in the first round of the playoffs, the club went out and swung a trade with the Memphis Grizzlies for point guard Mike Conley and then signed wing Bojan Bogdanovic in free agency.

The Jazz did have to sacrifice Derrick Favors and Ricky Rubio in order to make those acquisitions, but it seems like it's worth it. To replace Favors, Utah signed big man Ed Davis as a depth piece.

Because of the Jazz's active offseason, many have them pegged as one of the top teams in the Western Conference and one of the ballclubs that could potentially ruin a potential Clippers-Lakers Western Conference Finals matchup.

Mitchell is coming off a season in which he averaged 23.8 points, 4.2 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 1.4 steals over 33.7 minutes per game while shooting 43.2 percent from the floor, 36.2 percent from 3-point range and 80.6 percent from the free-throw line.

Meanwhile, Gobert just won his second straight Defensive Player of the Year award and registered 15.9 points, 12.9 boards, two assists and 2.3 blocks across 31.8 minutes a night while making 66.9 percent of his field goal attempts on the year.
