Shaquille O'Neal has caught some flak over his not-so-friendly postgame interview with Utah Jazz star Donovan Mitchell. The Hall-of-Famer tried to dish out an intentional diss on national television, which probably went over better in his head than it did on camera.

The big man seemed to be trying to generate some tough love-type of motivation for the Jazz All-Star. But given Shaq's recent remarks against Utah's other star, Rudy Gobert, it's understandable why there might be some animosity still lingering between both sides.

The Los Angeles Lakers icon recently spoke on the matter, indeed claiming he was just trying to rev up Utah's franchise guy:

What spices up the beef more is that the Utah Jazz are on an absolute tear. They own the best record in the Western Conference through 18 games, with a sterling 14-4 standing. After starting at 4-4, the Jazz ripped off 10 straight victories and show no signs of slowing down.

Win number 10 was especially sweet, as it pitted the Jazz against Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks without Donovan Mitchell. But Rudy Gobert responded in a big way, posting a monster big man special with 29 points and 20 rebounds in the contest. More importantly, they pulled off a wire-to-wire win against the Mavs to get their streak to double-digits.

One could definitely say that this is the Utah Jazz proving Shaquille O'Neal wrong here. But then again, maybe this was exactly the type of reaction that the Big Diesel was trying to coax out of Utah's star tandem. Jazz fans may want to hear more slander throughout the season, if it means the Jazz play balls to the wall every night.
