The Utah Jazz made a pair of official announcements with regards to their roster on Wednesday. Trey Lewis, who signed with Utah on Aug. 28, has been waived. However, Isaiah Cousins, who played with the Jazz’ G League affiliate, the Salt Lake City Stars, has signed with the team.

Lewis, now 25 years of age, appeared in four games with the Jazz during this year's Summer League tournament in Las Vegas, racking up averages of 9.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 18.6 minutes per outing. He earned a preseason contract with the Jazz, but missed the first two games due to a sprained left ankle.

Cousins is a 24-year-old guard out of The University of Oklahoma. The Mount Vernon, New York native played in 36 games (25 starts) with the Salt Lake City Stars last season (Utah's G-League affiliate), averaging 13.1 points, 4.4 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 1.3 steals.

Cousins, a human relations major, has also spent time overseas. In fact, his last gig was with Cholet Basket of the LNB Pro A in France, where he played in six games.

In his senior year with the Oklahoma Sooners (2016), Cousins turned in averages of 12.7 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4.5 assists, earning All-Big 12 Third team honors. And by the end of his four-year tenure in Norman, he had amassed 1,326 points, 529 rebounds, 365 assists and 157 steals.

The details of Cousins' deal with the Jazz were not disclosed, but there is no doubt he's happy for this new opportunity.

The Jazz will be back in action on Friday night, when they'll welcome the Adelaide 36ers (an Australian team that competes in the National Basketball League) to Vivint Smart Home Arena. Tip-off is set for 9:00 p.m. EST.
