For everyone who has been making a big deal out of New York Jets running back Le'Veon Bell missing voluntary workouts, you can all breathe a sigh of relief: he will be there when it really counts.

Jets head coach Adam Gase says that Bell told him he will be present at mandatory minicamp in June:

“We had a conversation about what was kind of his schedule,” Gase said on Friday at rookie minicamp, according to Manish Mehta of The New York Daily News. “We’ll kind of see how the OTAs go. As of right now, I know the mandatory stuff … he said he was going to be here for that. So, I don’t expect him to not show up for (minicamp on June 4-6).”

Given that Bell held out of his last two training camps with the Pittsburgh Steelers, there has been some concern about his absence from Jets voluntary workouts, but these workouts are just that: voluntary.

And remember: the reason Bell did not attend mandatory camp with the Steelers in 2017 and 2018 was because of a contract dispute with the team. He sat out through Week 1 in 2017 before returning in Week 2 and playing out the rest of the season, and the following year, he actually held out the entire campaign.

But, with Bell landing a four-year, $52.5 million contract with Gang Green earlier this offseason, money is obviously not an issue this time around.

If the 27-year-old ends up missing the mandatory stuff, then the Jets have a problem, but for now? Everyone should probably calm down.
