The New York Jets will in fact have the services of veteran wide receiver Demaryius Thomas on Monday evening against the Cleveland Browns.

With the Jets already without starting quarterback Sam Darnold due to illness, the 0-1 AFC East franchise will try to manage by adding Thomas to the fold as the longtime Denver Broncos wideout was just recently acquired by New York via trade with the rival New England Patriots.

Suiting up for both the Patriots and Houston Texans since leaving Denver midway through last season, Thomas has some familiarity with current Jets starting quarterback Trevor Siemian, who will be leading the way on Monday evening against the aforementioned Browns. Both Thomas and Siemian played together with the Broncos, which will obviously help the former in his Jets debut as he has yet to practice with the team.

It is also worth noting that the Jets will be fortunate enough to have starting running back Le'Veon Bell on the field against the Browns. Bell had remained questionable for the AFC showdown all week long as he continues to battle a lingering shoulder injury, a setback that caused him to undergo a MRI a few days back.

With the Jets starting off the season by blowing a late lead at home against a divisional opponent in the Buffalo Bills in Week 1, New York will need all the help it can get on Monday evening in East Rutherford. It is worth noting that both the New England Patriots and Bills currently sit atop the AFC East at 2-0.
