It's been a rough game for the New York Jets on Thursday Night Football as nothing seems to be going their way. After Mike White left with an injury early on in the contest, star safety Marcus Maye is doubtful to return against the Indianapolis Colts.

According to Around the NFL, Marcus Maye is not likely to return. For a franchise dealing with so many difficulties, this has to be a blow to the team's morale.

It can't be good news regarding Marcus Maye, as the Jets' safety “suffered what appeared to be a non-contact right leg injury in the third quarter on Thursday night and limped under his own power into the locker room.” Non-contact injuries can be serious, as normally that means a muscle was pulled or tweaked in a way it shouldn't have.

The Jets have been struck by the injury bug. Zach Wilson has missed the last two games including this Thursday night game against the Colts. Additionally, backup quarterback Mike White left the game early with an apparent hand injury on his throwing arm. They also started this matchup without Corey Davis in the lineup, making this Jets' roster a hobbled mess against Indianapolis.

We'll see if they can bounce back and get back into this game against the Colts. Unfortunately, it might be too little too late as the Indy is up 42-16 as of this writing. It might be time for the Jets to put in the reserves and protect their top players for the time being.
