The offense of the New York Jets has been essentially nonexistent this season, prompting defensive coordinator Gregg Williams to call out the offense. Despite taking a shot at the offense a week ago, Williams attempted to walk back his comments, per ESPN's Rich Cimini.

When Williams pitted the blame on the offense for New York's struggles, many assumed he was throwing shade at Adam Gase. However, the defensive-minded assistant is denying that his remarks were directed toward Gase.

Despite Williams attempting to save face, it's fair to question the performance of the Jets' offense and how Gase has failed to put them in a position to succeed. Through the first six weeks, New York is second-last in the NFL in offensive yards per game (276.7) and are last in the NFL in points per game (12.5).

The last thing the Jets need at this point is to have a rift within the coaching staff. But with Gase's seat getting scorching hot, there seem to be issues arising in New York behind closed doors.
