The quarterback situation is already grim for the New York Jets as they lose franchise quarterback Sam Dornold to mono. And just when Jets fans thought things couldn't get worse, they lose their other QB to an on-field injury.

Trevor Siemian injured his ankle after it twisted in a painful-looking position by a Cleveland Browns defender. With the way the injury looked, it's possible that he wouldn't be able to play in the game's second half.

The injury happened when Siemian had to scramble out of the pocket due to the O-line collapse. He was able to launch a pass that was eventually deemed incomplete.

However, defensive end Myles Garrett tackled him after he the ball left his hand. Siemian wasn't able to get his ankle out on time, and both he and Garrett put their weight of over 400 lbs on his left ankle.

The worried Jets team immediately rushed to his side as the referee awarded them 15 yards for Garrett's penalty. However, the damage is done and Luke Falk comes out in his stead.

The Browns said they weren't changing their game plan just because Darnold isn't playing. However, everyone can agree that Garrett's tackle was excessive. The secondary had it covered since the pass was incomplete.

Siemian hasn't found a home since he entered the National Football League. The 27-year-old has only played three years of meaningful football with the Denver Broncos before bouncing around the league. He's now the 32nd quarterback for the Jets since 1976, but he's taking things positively.

“You just get perspective, I think,” Siemian said of being the backup, per the New York Post. “No player wants to bounce around and play for a bunch of teams, but on the positive side, you get to see different players, good players, good coaches and what makes them so good. We’re all a combination of our experiences.

“So, little things here and there pick up and add to my game and see what works and go from there.”

He will hope that the injury won't take him out for too long. However, things aren't looking up for him.
