Leon Edwards and Jorge Masvidal are seemingly always going to have beef. The two UFC welterweights had a nasty altercation back in London in 2019 when the Cuban fighter punched the Englishman backstage.

The two have been in talks to fight for years but nothing has come together with both men seemingly on very different paths. The two were scheduled to fight at UFC 269 but Jorge Masvidal pulled out due to an injury and Leon Edwards was later offered a title shot.

Leon Edwards is currently set to fight Kamaru Usman at UFC 278 but he did offer to fight Jorge Masvidal in his first title defense. Masvidal recently spoke to BLOCK ASSET and responded to the offer from Edwards.

“See that’s another intangible,” the UFC welterweight said. “I gotta say no to fighting for the title? Like, hell no. I’ll get my ass in shape and ready for this fucking hooligan, you know? Give it all I got to break his face. So it’s a lot of tangibles. There are a lot of things that can happen out there. I could be getting myself ready for No. 10 of the world and all of a sudden, I’m fighting for a world championship.”

“So what I’m telling you is that I don’t even know what I’m gonna do with myself. I’m unpredictable like that, you know? I’m gonna go with the best options all the time,” the UFC star concluded.

Many things have to fall into place in order for Leon Edwards and Jorge Masvidal to fight each other for the UFC welterweight title. Kamaru Usman is a huge obstacle in making the fight happen between the two.
