Jose Aldo is set to continue his journey to the bantamweight title as he takes on Rob Font in December. The fight is currently in the works with an official announcement yet to be made.

The news was first reported by many different outlets. Ariel Helwani mentioned it on Spotify Greenroom, Combate reported the date, and MMAJunkie confirmed the news with various sources.

The matchup sees Jose Aldo make his second appearance in the cage since the start of the year. He beat Pedro Munhoz back in August in a performance that was reminiscent of his prime.

Jose Aldo previously fought for the title at UFC 251 in July 2020, he looked good in the early goings of the contest but was eventually finished after getting tired. Since then he's vowed to climb back to the title.

Rob Font is coming off of an excellent performance over Cody Garbrandt back in May. He dominated from start to finish and announced himself as a top contender in the division.

Currently, on a four-fight win streak, Font will be looking for a big win in order to line himself up for the next title shot. He's not far and a big performance could get the job done.

The division is currently in a tough spot with Aljamain Sterling currently injured and Petr Yan looking for a replacement in a potential interim title fight. The future of the division will be sorted out soon but until then it's going to be complicated for all of the contenders at bantamweight.
