Kansas Jayhawks coach Bill Self isn't happy with the narrative going around that the college basketball coach is trolling the NCAA.

Following the governing the governing body of college sports sending the school and coach a formal notice of allegations, the official Kansas Jayhawks Twitter account tweeted the following:

After that, it was the entire Snoop Dogg ā€˜incident' at their version of midnight madness, which resulted in many assuming Self was out here purposely calling the NCAA's bluff.

He's not happy about that.

ā€œThat has been a narrative some people have used since this, and anybody who knows me knows Iā€™m not smart enough to figure out some of those things that have transpired would relate to anything other than that moment,ā€ Bill Self said via the AP. ā€œI do stuff for Late Night every year. This year was no different.ā€

He also went on to say:

ā€œIā€™ve already addressed and spoke to what happened the other night,ā€ Self said during the Jayhawksā€™ annual media day Wednesday. ā€œI donā€™t know how any entertainer would in any way, shape or form thought to be sticking it to anybody, including the NCAA, by performing.

ā€œI do not like the narrative that has been said concerning that with me,ā€ Self continued, ā€œbut I also understand that I canā€™t control what the media writes or their opinions.ā€

So, at best, it's other people's fault that the Kansas Jayhawks coach is oblivious to the world?

Kidding aside, many people were enjoying the idea of Self turning heel. However, he apparently wants none of it, and this could very well be the end of this story.

Unless, you know, something else happens.
