Before Kevin Durant‘s introductory press conference on Thursday, the Warriors put up a banner on Oracle Arena welcoming KD. As tweeted by Darren Rovell Thursday morning.

This was to let any clueless Dubs fan know that they just signed one of the top 5 players in the world to an already stacked starting 5.  They also remind everyone to expect nothing less than an NBA championship this year. Emotions are high for Dubs Nation for now until the season begins. This is where we'll really find out if the pieces lost to get KD will affect the ability to win games later in the season. Hopes are high in the Bay that we will see our first ever 82-0 season in league history. Very unlikely, but what we do know is it's going to be a fun season to watch Warriors basketball.

Last season Durant averaged 27.3 ppg, 7 rpg, and 5 apg, while averaging 50% from the field and 38% from the three-point line with the Thunder. He led them alongside Russell Westbrook to a Western Conference Finals appearance against the Warriors. Eventually they lost the series after failing to close it out after having a 3-1 series lead on Golden State. This caused many NBA fans, in general, to see Durant as a coward in some ways for leaving to the team that beat him.

Most see his actions quite different from the actions of LeBron James who left Cleveland because the franchise didn't surround himself with competent talent. On the other hand the Thunder have done the opposite with players like Westbrook, Adams, and recent acquisition Oladipo. But while most NBA fans are critical of KD, the Warriors and their fans rejoice in the signing as shown by the giant banner.
