Bogdan Bogdanovic is playing well as one of the productive players in a balanced Sacramento Kings roster. However, he recently admitted that he has been playing far from his optimal condition as he's battling through a sore ankle.

Jason Anderson of the Sacramento Bee managed to get ahold of the Serbian guard and talked to him about his condition over the past couple of days. He revealed that he hasn't been able to pull out all the stops as he's nursing an ankle that has hurt since the final days of last season.

Bogdanovic had to leave the Kings 128-123 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies, but the nature of the injury wasn't revealed to the press. It was only after Anderson pressed for answers that they finally had an idea of what exactly is bothering one of their most exciting young players.

It was a shame for the Kings to lose such a key role player during the game as he finished with 16 points, two rebounds, and two assists in only 22 minutes of action. He would have easily done more if he was not dealing with any nagging injuries.

Fortunately for the Kings, there is plenty of young talent in the squad who can step up and take Bogdanovic's place as he recovered in the locker room. Harrison Barnes and Richaun Holmes were instrumental in helping the Kings complete the second-half comeback, and the rest of the Kings bench pitched in to help secure the W.

While the Kings can get by without Bogdanovic, they will still very much prefer him healthy and ready to contribute. He's providing solid production, averaging 14.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game.
