Sacramento Kings veteran Tristan Thompson let out his frustration after another tough loss against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday. Thompson's Kings dropped their fifth loss in six games at Minnesota as the team continues to struggle early this season. And, clearly, the former NBA champion wasn't happy with how his young team has handled adversity so far.

When asked where his team can get inspiration from in times like these, the Kings vet didn't mince his words:

“It's not about Coach Walton inspiring you,” a frustrated Thompson told the media (via Matt George of ABC10). “I don't need no f–king coach to inspire me – never have, never will. The day I need a coach to inspire me is the day I'm f–king retiring. I speak with my teammates with that quote. We don't need a coach to inspire us,”

Thompson was clearly not having it. Amid rumors of head coach Luka Walton possibly being sacked, the 30-year old wanted to make it clear that he, alongside his entire team, shouldn't rely on anyone else when it comes to finding it in them to make some winning plays. He was basically keeping it real.

“This is the NBA. No one's going to feel sorry for you,” Thompson added (via Jason Anderson of sacbee.com). “C-Webb and Bibby ain't coming through that door, so you've got to keep pushing each and every day. Keep getting better in practice, keep watching the film, learn from your mistakes.”

After spending almost a decade with the Cleveland Cavaliers and winning a championship alongside LeBron James, Thompson has been shipped from team to team over these past few seasons which gives him a ton of experience coming into Sacramento. The veteran big man knows that his role in Sacramento is to lead young guys like De'Aaron Fox, Marvin Bagley, and Tyrese Haliburton and quotes like this only go to show that he's definitely taking his leadership role quite seriously.
