The Kings just finished their best season since 2006. The team won 39 games in 2018-19.
Sacramento general manager Vlade Divac, who got a contract extension on Thursday, reportedly had a tense relationship with Joerger behind the scenes.
Walton went 98-148 with the Lakers. He joined Los Angeles in 2016 and was let go on Friday.
Messina is a well-respected guy around the league. He’s been an assistant coach with the Spurs since 2014 and won four EuroLeague championships as a head coach.
The Kings have a bright future, something we haven’t been able to say in a very long time. Point guard De’Aaron Fox, shooting guard Buddy Hield and power forward Marvin Bagley III all have All-Star potential. Sacramento almost made the postseason this year. They are expected to compete for a playoff spot again in 2019-20.
The Kings have the longest playoff drought in the NBA.
