Sacramento Kings point guard De'Aaron Fox is one of the brightest young stars in the league, and on Tuesday night against the Phoenix Suns, he demonstrated his versatility with a big-time chase-down block:

Entering Tuesday evening, Fox was averaging 17.9 points, 7.4 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.8 steals over 31.8 minutes per game while shooting 47.2 percent from the floor, 36.7 percent from three-point range and 72.1 percent from the free-throw line.

Fox, who played his collegiate basketball at the University of Kentucky, was originally selected by the Kings with the fifth overall pick of the 2017 NBA Draft.

He played in 73 games during his rookie campaign, making 60 starts. During that time, Fox registered 11.6 points, 4.4 assists, 2.8 boards and one steal across 27.8 minutes a night while making 41.2 percent of his field-goal attempts, 30.7 percent of his long-distance tries and 72.3 percent of his foul shots.

For the first time in well over a decade, the Kings actually seem to be headed in the right direction.

With young players such as Fox, Marvin Bagley, Willie Cauley-Stein, Buddy Hield and Bogdan Bogdanovic, Sacramento has one of the more intriguing collections of young talent in the league.

The Kings have not made the playoffs since the 2005-06 campaign and have not posted a winning season since, capping out at 38 wins in 2008.

This year, however, Sacramento not only appears to have a chance of posting a winning record, but it may have a shot of making the playoffs in the Western Conference.

Going into Tuesday night, the Kings owned a record of 20-20, one loss behind the Los Angeles Lakers for the eighth and final playoff spot in the West.
