Fresh off winning his second championship, Golden State Warriors shooter Klay Thompson continues to have a blast this summer.

The 27-year-old guard is currently in China were he has been seen having a grand time touring the country, and it also adds to his good mood that he now a new $80 million contract with his sneakers sponsor, Anta. He expressed his gratitude and also admitted, via Nick DePaula of Nice Kicks, that he is fortunate to be offered that kind of contract.

“The last three years, my career just exploded, in the NBA and internationally, I was able to win two gold medals, two NBA titles, played in a few All-Star games and get to be on the world stage all the time.”

“Knowing that these guys got my back and they want me to be a lifer, that’s special. Not a lot of guys sign shoe deals like this. I’m very, very happy to be with Anta.”

After signing with Anta in 2014, many thought that Thompson took a very big risk by passing on Nike, the brand he was previously endorsing. Thompson's career has blossomed over the past couple of seasons as he won a gold medal in the Olympics, and also won two championships in the NBA with the Warriors.

The $80 million figure is the maximum amount he can receive, which already includes incentives.
