Klay Thompson's not getting over it anytime soon.

On the brink of a third-straight appearance in the NBA Finals where the Warriors will see the Cavaliers for an unprecedented third consecutive time, Thompson still can't get last year out of his head.

The epic 3-1 collapse would be hard for anyone to get over, but by now most players admit they've moved on. Not Thompson though.

Via The Washington Post:

“Every day,” Thompson said. “I always thought about it. We were so close last year … a game away. I would be lying to you if I didn’t think about it all the time.

“I’m a competitive guy. I’ve thought about it all the time. I think that’s what fueled a lot of us to stay consistent this year, is to get back to playing in June.”

One thing that may get that sour taste out of Thompson's mouth is redemption. The Warriors appear to be as ready as possible for the rematch as they enter the Finals a perfect 12-0. Thompson has been not quite his usual self along the way averaging 14.4 points on 36.4 percent shooting from three. Those numbers are down from the regular season and the Warriors are hoping he steps it up and returns to his usual form next week.

Thompson and his Warriors will have to continue to wait before the third chapter in this great rivalry begins. The Finals won't start until Thursday, June 1 in Oakland.
