Earlier this year, the New York Knicks have decided to part ways with rising star Kristaps Porzingis. The team traded him to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for Dennis Smith Jr., and while most fans were extremely upset by this move, there are some individuals who actually supported it.

One of which is rapper and talk show host Action Brunson, who's actually okay with Porzingis leaving the Knicks. He recently appeared on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show on ESPN, where he said that KP wasn't destined to be in New York.

“Just, you could tell with certain guys, just don’t have it in ‘em. He didn’t have New York in him, man. I knew somebody that sold this brother weed, and from what I heard, he didn’t have it in ‘em.”

Porzingis was supposed to be the Knicks' centerpiece, the player that would lead them to a championship. Unfortunately, the franchise's inability to build a supporting cast around his led to his frustrations, which ultimately ended up in him requesting a trade.

Now, both sides are moving on from what has been a chaotic situation between them. The Knicks will now try to build around DSJ and this year's third overall pick RJ Barrett, while Porzingis will continue to recover from his ACL injury and then pair with Rookie of the Year winner Luka Doncic to try to help the Mavs return to the playoffs.

It will only be a matter of time before we see who made the right choice.
