David Fizdale is a big fan of LeBron James and the King is also a big fan of the newest New York Knicks coach. They spent time together when Fizdale was an assistant coach for the Miami Heat and after Fizdale was fired by the Memphis Grizzlies, James was one of the first to publicly support him.

During The Michael Kay's Show on ESPN Radio on Tuesday, Fizdale revealed just how much love he had for James and Dwyane Wade.

“I can’t put a price tag on that,’’ the Knicks’ new coach said on ESPN Radio’s Michael Kay show during his media tour Tuesday night. “They care about you so much, they’re going to come out publicly when you’re fired whether they know the whole story or not. They just know I’m a heckuva guy and a good coach.”

That being said, Fizdale isn't ready to talk about recruiting the King to New York, at least not yet.

“I can’t talk about none of that stuff,’’ Fizdale said when asked directly by Kay if he will get James in a Knicks uniform. “That’s so far off limits. All I’m talking about is these guys right now. We have so much work to do before free agency.’’

The new Knicks coach knows that the culture around the Knicks basketball team needs to change before the Big Apple will become a destination place again.

“(Free agents) are not just going to go there to live in New York City,’’ Fizdale said. “You’re going there to be in a culture. When you start showing that through action, players are going to come. New York is a special place.”

It will be an interesting storyline to see if Fizdale can figure out a way to convince James to get to New York. James and Fizdale already have a good relationship, but to get James to play for him, he will have to prove that they can win together.

It's a process much easier said than done.
