The New York Knicks have shown signs of competitiveness. Their young talents are coming into their own and continue to play at a high level. Immanuel Quickley has been one of the impressive rookies who has stood out for New York this season. The more he gets opportunities on the floor, the more he continues to improve.

The Knicks had a crushing 116-113 loss to the Portland Trailblazers Sunday night. It was certainly a nail to the wire, but Portland came through with big plays at the right time. Quickley recorded a career high 31 points in the nail biter. He shot efficiently on the floor and was getting good quality shots. The performance that Quickley displayed gained the attention of Blazers’ star point guard, Damian Lillard.

According to Ian Begley, Quickley was able to connect with Lillard through Knicks associate head coach, Johnnie Bryant. The two guards were able to communicate through text and Quickley was able to get some pointers from the nine year veteran. With Quickley being a young rookie, it was definitely a great moment to learn from a point guard who has had his share of battles.

Quickley continues to show fast emergence in the NA. His demeanor is to play in attack mode every game. The outcome of that mindset has been great individual numbers across the stat sheet for Quickley. As the Knicks sit at 8-11, the team looks to get back on the right track after an impressive start.
