The New York Knicks suffered another humiliating blowout defeat on Monday, as they were absolutely pummeled by the league-best Milwaukee Bucks. It was indeed a forgettable evening for the Knicks, as they succumbed to an overpowering Bucks side with a final score of 132-88.

After the head-scratching 44-point defeat, New York forward Julius Randle spoke about how he thinks his team got it all wrong even before the game started.

“I felt the [lack of] morale at the beginning of the game,’’ Randle said, via Marc Berman of the New York Post. “A lack of energy. Our spirit has to be everything.’’

The Knicks were on a second night of a back-to-back set, following a more formidable effort against the Boston Celtics. New York still lost, 113-104, but that was by no means as discouraging as Monday night's thrashing.

Randle appears to have hit the nail on the head here, as the Knicks looked absolutely worse for wear early in the ballgame. This contest was actually over as early as the first period, with the Bucks outscoring them 33-15 in the opening quarter alone.

For his part, Randle was the only starter, and one out of three other New York players that scored in double-digits in this one. The 6-foot-8 big man logged team-high 19 points (5-of-12 from the field, 9-of-11 from the line), five rebounds, an assist, a steal, and three turnovers in 25 minutes of action. Depressingly, the other four Knicks starters combined for just 18 points on the evening.

This defeat sends the Knicks to a 4-17 record, which is only one game ahead of the league-worst Golden State Warriors at this point.
