Julius Randle doesn't care where experts have the New York Knicks finishing this season.

Most pundits believe the Knicks will once again miss the playoffs. Randle, though, isn't paying attention to the outside noise and is focusing on what he and his teammates can control:

Julius Randle signed a three-year, $62.1 million contract with the Knicks this summer. He was one of the seven veterans New York signed after the franchise missed out on stars Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.

Randle played with the New Orleans Pelicans last season. The talented lefty averaged 21.4 points and 8.7 rebounds while shooting 52.4 percent from the field, 34.4 percent from beyond the arc and 73.1 percent from the free-throw line.

Randle, 24, figures to have a high usage rate on the Knicks since New York doesn’t have a clear No. 1 option on offense. The other veterans the Knicks signed after Randle were Bobby Portis, Marcus Morris, Taj Gibson, Elfrid Payton, Wayne Ellington and Reggie Bullock.

New York also drafted RJ Barrett and Ignas Brazdeikis in the 2019 NBA Draft.

The Knicks, as we all know, have been a walking disaster for years. The team, though, should be a lot more competitive this upcoming season after acquiring veterans who know what it takes to win in the NBA.
