Rookie forward Kevin Knox looked mighty promising during his short stint in the Summer League, looking like one of the best players showcased during the tournament. While the first day of New York Knicks training camp was a rude awakening, going from facing NBA hopefuls to real pros, the Kentucky product has quickly adapted to the pace, getting all sorts of help from the team's veterans.

“It's totally different than Summer League – playing against guys who've played, seven, eight, 12 years,” said Knox, according to ESPN's Ian Begley. “They move better. They know some little tricks, veteran tricks…. There's more tactics, more pace – offensively defensively. Just moves. A lot of stuff just doesn't work as (it did) in Summer League. You got to be able to adjust it.”

Head coach David Fizdale said it took one day for Knox to get accustomed to playing against veterans in training camp. During the Knicks' second practice on Wednesday, Fizdale said Knox was “right back to looking like he belongs.”

Knox said he's been getting feedback from the team's veterans, mentioning Lance Thomas, Courtney Lee and Tim Hardaway Jr. as ones who have chipped in with helpful tips.

“They're always talking to me, making sure I'm on top of everything,” said Knox.

Knox, like any rookie, will have to have an adjustment period to fit into the NBA — but his learning curve won't be all that steep considering his talent, frame, and innate ability to put the ball in the basket — all traits he showcased early in this year's Summer League.
