New York Knicks star Kristaps Porzingis is going to be OK.

After injuring his knee in a recent game, there was some uncertainty about the severity of the injury and how long it would take for him to return to the floor.

But it was revealed that his knee may just be sore, and he remains day-to-day, per Brian Mahoney of the Associated Press.

When Porzingis first hurt his knee, it was in a play where there was no contact, fueling the speculation that the injury might be serious. But the update is relatively good news for the Knicks, who are fighting for their lives in the Eastern Conference.

However, with Porzingis being far and away the team's best player, it makes sense for the team to be cautious about his injury. Any time a knee is involved, those types of ailments can become tricky to handle, and many times even minor knee injuries keep players out for an extended period of time.

It's disappointing that there is a possibility Porzingis does not play in Carmelo Anthony's return to New York. He said some supportive things about Anthony, and fans would sure love to see them reunited in the city that never sleeps.

But Knicks fans may just have to wait for that.
