New York Knicks big man Mitchell Robinson is currently ranked third overall in the league in terms of blocks per game. The 7-foot-1 big man is swatting 2.4 shots per contest, and amazingly, he is doing so in only 19.0 minutes per game.

The 20-year-old is a natural in his position, and as confidently stated by Robinson himself, he believes that his shot-blocking prowess is also “just natural.”

“It’s just natural,” responded Robinson when asked about how he has developed into one of the league's best rim protectors, via Mike Vorkunov of The Athletic.

For some, this may come off as a bit overconfident on Robinson's part, but in all honesty, you can actually tell that he is speaking the truth here when you see him in action.

His presence on the court definitely changes the opposing team's approach on the offensive end, as Robinson is an absolute defensive threat down low. On a per-36 basis, the second-round pick is amazingly averaging 4.6 blocks per contest. For some context, Indiana Pacers star Myles Turner leads the leagues in blocks (2.7 per game), and his per-36 average is only at 3.4 per game.

Nonetheless, there are still several aspects of Robinson's game that requires fine-tuning, and at the moment, he still remains to be a shot-blocking specialist. He is, however, just in his rookie year, so potentially, he has the makings of becoming one of the best defensive bigs in the near future.
