The headlines were supposed to be all about the New York Knicks massive comeback victory in Game 2 against the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday night. Instead, some moron decided to spit towards Trae Young while he awaited to inbound the ball late in the 4th quarter. As a result, the Knicks and Madison Square Garden have taken action.

In a statement released on Thursday, the Knicks announced that the fan has been banned from the Garden.

The Knicks confirmed that the fan did spit on Trae Young and has been identified and banned from MSG. They went on to apologize to Trae Young and the Hawks organization.

Young seemed to not notice at the time during the battle with the Knicks, but definitely noticed afterwards on Twitter.

The video can be seen in the quote tweet from Young.

It marked the second incident on Wednesday involving a fan doing something stupid and getting banned. Outside of the Knicks – Hawks incident, a 76ers fan had his season tickets taken away permanently for dumping popcorn on Russell Westbrook after he hobbled off the court with an injured ankle.

It's almost as if fans don't know how to act after such a long layoff with empty stands, arenas and stadiums.

Both the Knicks and the 76ers clearly made the right moves by getting rid of these guys and making sure the door is always closed for them from here on out.

Game 3 shifts back to Atlanta for the Knicks – Hawks series. After two thrilling games so far, the series is deadlocked at 1-1.
