If Kenyon Martin is right about this, the NBA is going to be in for quite something next season.

The former NBA player has predicted that LeBron James will choose to leave the Cleveland Cavaliers and join the New York Knicks in free agency this summer.

Via a New York CBS radio show:

“I think LeBron coming to the Knicks..just because of the way he approaches things, the way he wants his legacy to be I think coming to a franchise that hasn't done anything of late.”

That would certainly be something.

The Knicks aren't considered to be on James' radar according to most accounts. It's mainly been teams like the Rockets, Sixers and Spurs being connected to James as potential destinations.

The Knicks would be a choice where LeBron wouldn't be considering winning right away, unless you think Kristaps Porzingis is enough of a No. 2 option to help LeBron win the East, and after what LeBron did these past playoffs maybe you can legitimately think that.

But it seems LeBron wants to go somewhere he can win and while a possible longshot, the Knicks would be far from a guarantee in providing LeBron that.

We'll see if this gains any more steam or if Martin is just throwing out crazy ideas.
