Los Angeles Lakers superstar big man Anthony Davis is a Chicago native who roots for the Green Bay Packers, the Chicago Bears' biggest rival.

Davis was at the Packers playoff game on Sunday, causing folks in Chicago to wonder why one of their native sons was rooting for the Packers.

Speaking to Lakers reporters on Tuesday, Davis explained why he's a Packers fan:

The Bears won one playoff game in the last decade, so you can't really blame Anthony Davis for being a Packers fan.

Although it's weird to see a Chicago native rooting for the rival Packers, Davis clearly has his reasons for it. The Lakers power forward, who is currently out with an injury, surely had a fun time on Sunday at Lambeau Field, as Green Bay advanced to the NFC Championship game by defeating the Seattle Seahawks.

In his first season with the Lakers, Davis has been a monster on both ends of the court. He’s averaging 27.1 points, 9.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.6 blocks while shooting 50.4 percent from the field, 29.7 percent from beyond the arc and 85.9 percent from the free-throw line.

The Lakers, behind LeBron James and Davis, have the best record in the Western Conference. They are 33-7 and have won nine games in a row.
