Los Angeles Lakers center Anthony Davis will not play against the Cleveland Cavaliers in their Monday night showdown, as he's still recovering from a back injury.

AD will will be missing his third consecutive game, having failed to suit up in their past two games against the Dallas Mavericks and Oklahoma City Thunder.

Anthony Davis has been playing phenomenal on both ends of the floor for the Lakers this season. He leads the team in scoring, averaging an astonishing 27.1 points to go along with 9.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.5 steals and 2.6 blocks per game.

When the Lakers hosted the New York Knicks last week, Davis suffered a scary fall on his back as he attempted to contest a Julius Randle shot. He traveled with the team these past two games, but the Purple and Gold decided to not play him.

Despite AD missing the past two games, the Lakers managed to find a way to win without him.

Backup point guard Rajon Rondo will also be out as he suffered a sprained right ring finger against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Rondo scored 21 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists in just his second start for the Lakers.

On a good note, forward Lebron James will play against his former team. James did not play the last game against the Thunder as he was suffering from flu-like symptoms.

The Lakers are currently the top seed in the Western Conference with a record of 32-7.  They are seeking to extend their win streak to nine as they host the struggling Cavs at the Staples Center.
