Los Angeles Lakers All-Star Anthony Davis has been cleared to play in Wednesday night's preseason matchup against the Golden State Warriors:

This is obviously great news for the Lakers, as Davis is going to be one of the team's primary options. The former No. 1 overall pick has been dealing with a right thumb injury, but he was able to go through a full practice on Tuesday. He wore a wrap on his finger and later noted that he “felt fine.” However, he'll likely be placed on some sort of minutes restriction for Wednesday's exhibition.

Davis joined the Lakers by way of an offseason trade with the New Orleans Pelicans. He's now linked up with LeBron James on what many experts are viewing as one of the more formidable teams in the Western Conference.

Davis made 56 appearances with the Pelicans last season (all starts), racking up averages of 25.9 points on 51.7 percent shooting from the field (33.1 percent from beyond the arc), 12.0 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 2.4 blocks and 1.6 steals in 33.0 minutes per outing.

Wednesday night's preseason matchup between the Lakers and Warriors is scheduled to tip inside Staples Center at 10:30 p.m. ET, with ESPN having live broadcast coverage.
