Los Angeles Lakers All-Star Anthony Davis met with reporters at All-Star Media Day, and he heaped some praise on arguably the greatest player in women's basketball history.

Davis said his favorite WNBA player is Diana Taurasi, citing her similarities to another one of his favorites: the late Lakers legend Kobe Bryant.

Davis is a known fan and advocate of the WNBA. Last July, he attended a game between the Indiana Sky and Chicago Fever with Dwyane Wade and a group of kids from his basketball camp. AD was also clearly excited to introduce the WNBA to the young hoopers back then.

“I love watching basketball, my family is a basketball family and I thought it would be a cool thing for the kids to come in and watch the game of basketball as well from a different perspective,” Davis said. “I’m not even sure most of these kids have ever seen a WNBA game before.”

Anthony Davis is not the only Lakers player to see Kobe Bryant in the three-time WNBA champ. After Diana Taurasi broke the league's all-time scoring record in 2017, Bryant himself proudly gave Taurasi the “White Mamba” nickname and said she has “every bit of the temperament.”

Meanwhile, it is worth noting that Taurasi reflected on Bryant's impact after his death.

“For as great as he was at playing basketball, the greatest was coming, and you could see it. There was something about Kobe that energized people, that brought people together. And in the last three years, you saw a different human being. You saw this person at peace, a person that was happy to live every single day.”

Davis, along with teammate LeBron James, paid tribute to Bryant with a new tattoo to recognize the impact Kobe had on his life and basketball career.
