Carmelo Anthony will finally link up with his good friend LeBron James on the Los Angeles Lakers after agreeing to a deal with the team in Free Agency. Anthony spent two seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers though and helped Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum make the playoffs in back-to-back years. By no surprise, the Blazers have made a touching tribute video to Carmelo Anthony after what he did for the organization.

Anthony joined the Blazers in November of 2019 after a one-year hiatus from the NBA. Across the two years in Portland, Melo averaged 14.3 points and 4.6 rebounds on 40% shooting from downtown.

With this move, Carmelo Anthony will have a chance at winning his first NBA title. The Lakers have been busy as ever this offseason, signing numerous veterans like Wayne Ellington, Dwight Howard, and Trevor Ariza, among others. Anthony is also the only member of the Banana Boat crew to not win a ring in his career. Teaming up with LeBron will surely be a sight for sore eyes and LA will be poised for a championship run after an early exit in the 2021 NBA playoffs.

Carmelo Anthony gives the Lakers another veteran presence and fantastic shooter who should have no problem getting more open looks with the type of superstars around him.
