After a scintillating 24-3 start to the 2019-20 NBA regular season en route to the best record in the league, the Los Angeles Lakers suddenly found themselves at the losing end of their last four consecutive games. After dominating the competition for the first two months, the Purple and Gold stumbled against the Indiana Pacers, Milwaukee Bucks, Denver Nuggets, and most recently against bitter rivals Los Angeles Clippers in their Christmas Day showdown.

Lakers' Three-and-D player Danny Green has particularly struggled during that brutal stretch, finishing in double figures just once in the last four games. Now facing adversity for the first time this season, some pundits are claiming that chemistry issues may have been the cause of the team's surprising slide. Green vehemently denied the claims, explaining that fatigue was more of the factor.

“I think we’re all on the same page. Our chemistry is still great on the court. It’s just keeping the rhythm. We started off pretty good for the most part. Seems like we struggle with Sunday games and early games. We run out of gas. We have to continue that for 48 minutes, that’s the key. Obviously, it’s December, it’s still early,” he shared after team practice on Friday.

Green has been averaging 8.5 points while shooting 41.6 percent from the field and draining 37.9 percent of his attempts from past the arc. He is also collecting 3.8 rebounds and 1.2 steals in 25.6 minutes per game.

The Lakers will certainly be tested in the coming weeks, especially with multiple news claiming that superstar LeBron James is expected to take some time off after re-aggravating his groin injury after getting entangled against Clippers' pesky guard Patrick Beverley in their last game. James has only missed two games so far this season, and has declared that he is not planning to sit out games due to load management.
