Veteran stretch forward Jared Dudley has agreed to a deal with the Los Angeles Lakers, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Dudley spent this past season with the Brooklyn Nets.

Dudley will stretch the floor for the LeBron James-led Lakers. This is the first move LA has made this offseason in free agency after trading for Anthony Davis a few weeks ago.

With the Nets this past season, Dudley averaged 4.9 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists while shooting 42.3 percent from the field, 35.1 percent from beyond the arc and 69.6 percent from the free-throw line.

The Lakers, of course, are trying to sign superstar small forward Kawhi Leonard. The Purple and Gold missed the playoffs in the first season of the LeBron era. Things, though, should be a lot different next season with Davis in the fold.

Dudley's stats will never jump off the page, but he's a good veteran to have in the locker room and will hit timely shots when you need him to. The Lakers need as many 3-point shooters as they can get around James and Davis. The team is also trying to get Danny Green, who played with Leonard on the Toronto Raptors this past season and with the San Antonio Spurs.
