Los Angeles Lakers center JaVale McGee wants to set a good example for his daughter, so that means he has to watch his curse words and diet when he's around her.

McGee's daughter, Gigi, is two-years-old. The Lakers' starting center is learning about the subtle nuances of being a good father, via Kyle Goon of the Orange County Register:

McGee still is conscious of who is watching him, although now that concern is limited to a far smaller circle than in used to be. He watches himself lest he sets a bad example for his two-year-old daughter, Gigi.

He watches his language around her. He doesn’t eat junk food around her. He doesn’t want her to grow up picking up any bad habits.

“It does change my perspective because it’s somebody who watches me who will do everything I do,” he said. “When I’m with her, we eat healthy, or we go to the park, or we’re just running around. Just instilling, like ‘OK, when you grow up, you need to work out, you need to eat healthy.’ It’s crazy, but that’s a little human that I have to raise”

JaVale McGee signed a one-year deal with the Lakers in July after spending the previous two seasons with the Golden State Warriors. The 30-year-old is averaging 14.1 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 2.9 blocks while shooting 63.0 percent from the field.
