Don't count Los Angeles Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma among those who were afraid when All-Star big man DeMarcus Cousins signed with the Golden State Warriors over the summer.

When asked what his thoughts were of Cousins' deal with the Warriors, Kuzma had this to say:

“I’m a competitor so I didn’t really get scared or tremble,” he said, according to Dave McMenamin of ESPN.

Kuzma's Lakers will face off against Cousins' Warriors on Monday night.

Cousins made his season debut against the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday evening, finishing with 14 points, six rebounds and three assists in 15 minutes before fouling out. He made five of his 11 field goal attempts, burying three 3-pointers.

Kuzma has played in 47 games this season, averaging 19.3 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.4 assists over 33.1 minutes per game while shooting 47 percent from the floor, 31.3 percent from 3-point range and 76.1 percent from the free-throw line.

While Monday's matchup between Golden State and Los Angeles looks good on paper, it won't feature the two teams at full strength. Not even close, as a matter of fact.

The Warriors will be mostly healthy, but the Lakers will be without LeBron James, Rajon Rondo and Lonzo Ball.

James is dealing with a groin injury he sustained during a blowout win over the Warriors on Christmas, which marked the first meeting between the two teams this season.

Rondo is recovering from hand surgery, while Ball is now nursing a sprained ankle that will keep him out for an extended period of time.

The Lakers own a record of 25-22 and currently find themselves out of the Western Conference playoff picture.
