After having a decent first half, the Los Angeles Lakers experience yet another dreadful third quarter that cost them the game against the Boston Celtics.

With the return of LeBron James after missing two weeks due to an abdominal strain, the Lakers came into the TD Garden with high hopes. LeBron's return to the squad initially looked decent as the Lakers headed into halftime with a narrow 1-point 61-60 lead. However, things took a turn in the third quarter yet again, quickly turning the game on its head, causing a massive 130-108 blowout in Boston. The Lakers could not contain Boston's Jayson Tatum, who ended with a massive 37-point 11-rebound double-double.

It is no secret that the Lakers have been utterly terrible at executing the third quarter of every game this season. Earlier this week, Lakers head coach Frank Vogel was asked about their third-quarter performances as of late, in which he said he's not sure on what's actually happening—they just continually fail to execute the game plan.

To put things into perspective on how bad the Lakers actually are in the third quarter, StatMuse revealed on Twitter that LA is the second-worst third quarter team in the league, only leading the developing Detroit Pistons—certainly not ideal for a team who have championship aspirations.

Lakers need to sort this out as soon as possible, and it should be expected that LeBron James and co are very unhappy about this current trend.
