Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is confused about the response of the “Squid Game” creator to his opinion on how he didn't like the ending of the hit Netflix series.

To recall during the Lakers' media day, LeBron and Anthony Davis were caught talking about the popular South Korean drama series. James admitted he finished it, but he was not happy with how it ended since he wanted the main character Gi-hun to go see his daughter instead of coming back to stop the brutal game.

“I did finish it,” James said. “Yeah, I didn’t like the ending though. I know they start it off with a Season 2, but, like, get on the f*ckin’ flight and go see your daughter, bro. Like, what are you doing?”

Upon hearing the response of the Lakers superstar, though, “Squid Game” creator Hwang Dong-hyuk gave a rather shocking response. It appears he was hurt by the comments, challenging LeBron to make his own sequel so he can judge it as well.

“LeBron James is cool and can say what he wants. I respect that. I’m very thankful he watched the whole series. But I wouldn’t change my ending. That’s my ending. If he has his own ending that would satisfy him, maybe he could make his own sequel. I’ll check it out and maybe send him a message saying, ‘I liked your whole show, except the ending,'” Hwang Dong-hyuk told The Guardian.

LeBron saw the response that is now going viral on social media, and sure enough, he couldn't believe it–even wishing that it's not true and just one of those fake quotes that is popular on various social media.

Unfortunately for the Lakers leader, it is true. The popular director seemingly mocked LeBron's “Space Jam 2” film as well when he asked his The Guardian interviewer if he has watched the film.

It remains to be seen if the “Squid Game” creator will respond to LeBron once again, but it sure is worth watching out for.
