With respect to Dwyane Wade, when it's all said and done, Anthony Davis could go down as the best teammate Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has ever had.

Davis is a monster on both sides of the ball and can score effortlessly from all areas of the court. His elite defender mentality and offensive prowess is why LeBron has no shame in calling AD an “animal.”

Davis is averaging 26.1 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.8 blocks per game this season for the Lakers, who are 16-2. The six-time All-Star is shooting 47.7 percent from the field, 33.3 percent from beyond the arc and 87.8 percent from the free-throw line.

With Davis and LeBron leading the way, the Lakers have a great chance of winning the championship this season. Teams have no idea how to stop AD and James in the pick-and-roll game, and that will likely be the case all season long.

For his part, James is putting up 25.8 points, 7.3 rebounds and 11.0 assists. The King is shooting 49.6 percent overall, 35.0 percent from the 3-point line and 67.6 percent from the charity stripe.

Davis said before the season he wants to win the Defensive Player of the Year Award. It's possible with the way he's been playing so far.
