Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James is one of the last players that made the trip straight from high school right into the NBA and ascended into stardom. The current rules now prevent players from coming into the NBA from high school which makes James the last of his kind.

He has now cemented himself as an NBA great and a first ballot Hall of Famer when he retires. Along the way, the 6'9 forward found himself on the side of history obtaining records as the youngest player to achieve them, including being the youngest to grab a triple-double after joining the pros.

Just as he did as a young player, his own records are in line to be broken as he works towards the latter side of his career and the next generation of players come to make a name for themselves.

Los Angeles Lakers rookie sensation Lonzo Ball is one projected to have star potential, who has been battling with his own shooting struggles lately.

Even with some of his most frustrating moments, Ball shows flashes of what he can do and what he will be including during Saturday night's matchup between the Lakers and the Milwaukee Bucks.

The rookie point guard surpassed James as the youngest player to ever record a triple-double in an NBA game, finishing the game with 19 points, 13 assists, 12 rebounds, three steals and a career-high-tying four blocks.

After the Cavaliers shootaround just prior to Monday night's game against the New York Knicks, James sent congratulations to Ball for breaking the record he set as a young player as he expressed to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin:

I definitely think back to when I was that young. There’s not many games that I can remember when I was 20 years old or 19 or even 18. So first of all, congratulations to him. I think he’s going to be a really, really good point guard in our league, probably a great point guard if he continues to work on his craft, which it seems like he does. They got a good one.

James has had his eye on Ball attending a summer league game to watch him play as well as sending him a special Happy Birthday message on Twitter. It's apparent he sees something in the young Ball that he likes, and has been apart of the group that has sent love his way than any criticism due to LaVar Ball's proclamations.

Seeing as though James is a fan of Ball's game, the Lakers will likely use it as a pitch to try to persuade James to leave Cleveland this summer when he becomes a free agent.
