Los Angeles Lakers superstar small forward LeBron James was forced to evacuate his house due to the recent California wildfires.

James told reporters on Tuesday he and his family tried three hotels in the middle of the night after being evacuated before eventually finding one, via Dave McMenamin of ESPN:

James lives in the Brentwood neighborhood. Early Monday, a fire broke out along the west side of Interstate 405 in Los Angeles. The fire grew to more than 500 acres.

LeBron took to Twitter early in the morning on Monday saying the fires were “no joke.” The Lakers star also thanked the first responders:

James and the Lakers take on the Memphis Grizzlies at Staples Center on Tuesday. The Lakers are 2-1 on the season. They lost to the Los Angeles Clippers on opening night, but have defeated the Utah Jazz and Charlotte Hornets.

LeBron is averaging 23.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and 10.0 assists through the first three games of the season. The four-time MVP is shooting 47.3 percent from the field, 25.0 percent from beyond the arc and 88.2 percent from the free-throw line.

The Lakers head on the road after Tuesday's game against the Grizzlies. They take on the Dallas Mavericks, San Antonio Spurs and Chicago Bulls before coming back home to face the Miami Heat.
