LeBron James hasn't even played a single minute as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers but his mural in LA is getting the royal treatment by its artist. It was recently updated with his jersey and more Lakers icons were added.

Below is the updated mural by Gustavo Zermeño Jr. as posted by Audel Del Toro:

As observed, the mural depicts James as the newcomer — looking at the great ones that came before him. The likes of Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O'Neal, Magic Johnson, and Kareem Abdul-Jabar are holding up their respective championship trophies while the newly-minted Laker looks on.

The mural serves both as a welcome note and a challenge. The Lakers are known for their winning culture. One does not simply suit up for the purple and gold. James signed up for the Lakers for one thing and one thing only: to bring the Lakers back to championship glory.

In the next four years, can James snag a ring for his new team? If so, will the mural evolve from James looking up to the greats to being heralded as one?

LeBron James has already accomplished much in his career. But he made a decision to ink a deal with the Lakers — one of the best organizations in all of sports. With it comes the immense pressure of performing up to par. Is this a suicide mission or a quixotic quest to fortify his status as one of the greats?
