LeBron James' side hustle as a filmmaker has finally earned him some hardware. The Los Angeles Lakers' superstar was also the main star in Space Jam: A New Legacy. Although the Lakers, who are on the edge of play-in tournament territory, likely won't be winning a championship, James has his movie to fall back on for adding more hardware.

The 42nd annual Golden Raspberry Awards awarded James with the “worst actor” title for his role in the Space Jam sequel. The movie also won awards in the Razzies for the worst screen combo and worst remake, spin-off or sequel. The Lakers veteran proved to be overmatched as a rookie film star, though he has a long career ahead of him in that field to improve.

The Razzies, which are awarded right before the Oscars, is meant to poke fun at bad productions, though it comes off very mean-spirited. Space Jam got blasted by the awards. The movie's writing and the acting are very corny, with much of the jokes just being outdated pop-culture references.

James could take home some meaningful hardware if he wins the 2022 MVP award. He is among the leading scorers in the league (he is currently in the lead with 30.0 points per game) and doing so at such an old age should be a plus for the award voters, even if it's not a good factor to use. Still, Los Angeles' poor record will overshadow the strong season he is enjoying at age 37.
