Los Angeles Lakers star and NBA Finals MVP LeBron James took to Instagram on Monday to give praise to his co-star, Anthony Davis.

James also sent a warning to the rest of the NBA after LA captured the NBA title on Sunday. The 35-year-old called Davis an “ANIMAL,” adding that AD is only just “scratching the surface of his potential.”

Davis had already earned recognition as arguably the best big man in the game prior to arriving in LA ahead of this season.

However, “The Brow” made a statement in helping lead the Lakers to their 17th championship in franchise history.

Davis was named First Team All-NBA after averaging 26.1 points, 9.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists during the regular season. He was also the runner-up for the NBA's Defensive Player of the Year Award after averaging 2.3 blocks and 1.5 steals on the year.

Nevertheless, Davis' excellent regular season was only an appetizer for his playoff performance. The 27-year-old averaged 27.7 points and 9.7 boards during the Lakers' playoff run in the bubble, all while shooting 57.1 percent and dominating opposing the front court with his multifaceted skill set.

Davis also averaged a double-double in the Finals, scoring 19 points and grabbing 15 rebounds in the series-clinching victory on Sunday.

James might have a dynasty on his mind. Davis will be a free agent once he inevitably declines his player option for the 2020-21 season, but the Lakers are almost certainly going to give AD a max contract this offseason.

The Lakers are looking to build something sustainable, and James cautions LA will be even better once Davis unlocks his full potential.
