To say that Russell Westbrook is all-in with his move to the Los Angeles Lakers would still be a huge understatement. The man hasn't even played a single game yet, but it feels like he just belongs in purple and gold.

One of his biggest motivators is the late Kobe Bryant, whose dual jerseys hang above the rafters for Westbrook to see. Westbrook spoke out about what the Lakers icon means to him as he dons the same jersey colors that the Black Mamba once did.

“You come in here and you look up at the practice facility,” the Lakers point guard said. “You see 8 and 24 and I know he's looking down and making sure that I do what I need to do. That's the only thing I think about is understanding the impact I can have on being home and being a Laker and creating a legacy, not just for myself but for my kids, the community of Los Angeles, and for the people here. I'm gonna make sure I just do my part in going out playing for him and through him as I compete in this uniform.”

There's no doubt that Kobe Bryant would be beaming from ear to ear watching Russell Westbrook put on the Lakers threads. Seeing his former rivals in Westbrook, Carmelo Anthony, Rajon Rondo, and LeBron James (and yes, Dwight Howard again) joining forces to try and bring another title to Los Angeles is all he'd ever want to see.

Now it's time for them to put in the work to make sure that becomes reality. Kobe Bryant wouldn't want anything less.
