Colby Covington is not afraid to speak out, even if it is against what he called “woke athletes” like Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James.

After defeating Tyron Woodley in the UFC Fight Night main event on Saturday, Covington took the opportunity to thank first-responders and the military who are working tirelessly amid the coronavirus pandemic. Interestingly, he did so while also criticizing other athletes like LeBron — whom he suggests is all talk but no walk.

“I want to dedicate this fight to all the first responders, all the military out there. This world would not be safe without you guys, you keep us safe, and not these woke athletes. I'm sick of these spineless cowards like LeBron James,” Covington said of the Lakers star.

For what it's worth, Covington also promoted Donald Trump and stated his prediction of a landslide victory for the incumbent U.S. president in the upcoming November elections.

“Ladies and gentlemen, the silent majority is ready to make some noise,” the MMA fighter exclaimed at the beginning of his interview. “If you thought that was a beating, wait until Nov. 3 when Donald Trump gets his hands on sleepy Joe. That’s going to be a landslide.”

LeBron James has been one of the biggest critics of Trump, especially in the bubble where he has used his platform to call out the nation's top leader. In fact, when Trump said last month that he will no longer watch NBA games due to the players' protests, the Lakers star responded by saying that the basketball community won't be sad losing his viewership.

James also once wore a MAGA hat parody that read “Make America Arrest The Cops Who Killed Breonna Taylor” — with the words “Great Again” crossed out.

Given their opposing views , it's not surprising to see Colby Covington call out LeBron.

However, it seems unfair to LeBron to be called a “spineless coward” given the way he has used his platform to spark change and fight for what he believes is right. He is also undoubtedly the most influential and philanthropic NBA player today, and his actions certainly speak louder than his words.
