It’s been over a year since former Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant decided to hang up his sneakers. You bet that somewhere inside Bryant is a massive reservoir of competitive juice the Black Mamba is looking to dispense somewhere else.

Could that be on the dance floor? Does the five-time NBA champ have what it takes to perform as well in a pair of dancing shoes as he did while wearing sneakers during his legendary basketball career? We don’t know for sure, but if we ask Kobe Bryant’s ex-teammate with the Lakers, Derek Fisher, the former NBA MVP is a fit for the hit show “Dancing with the Stars”, per TMZ.

“He loves the show. He and the family watch it,” Fisher said … “[Producers] should at least try and call him!”

Having Bryant would certainly boost the show’s ratings, as he is easily one of the most recognizable and popular athletes on the planet. That the next season of DWTS will showcase a lineup composed entirely of athletes just improves the odds of the Lakers great tossing his hat in the ring of ballroom dancing.

Athletes have won the contest before with the likes of Emmitt Smith, Apolo Anton Ohno, Hines Ward, and Rashad Jennings, to name a few, who took home the Mirrorball in the past editions of the show. Fisher wasn’t as lucky, though, as he was eliminated early.

We know Kobe Bryant isn’t a fan of passing the ball, but will he pass up also on ball-room dancing? We hope not.
