Like many others have chosen to do, Javal McGee sent out a heartfelt tribute to Lakers legend Kobe Bryant, who died in a tragic helicopter accident outside Los Angeles just over a week ago.

McGee, who signed with the Lakers in July of 2018, noted that he's “trying to push forward,” but he's still in disbelief:

“This past week has been one of the hardest and most heartbreaking experiences I've been a part of as a basketball player and just as a person,” McGee said in his video tribute to Kobe Bryant.

Sadly, all nine passengers aboard Bryant's flight were killed, including his 13-year-old daughter Gianna. The group was on their way to the Mamba Sports Academy, where Kobe was to serve as a coach for his daughter's basketball team.

“Our collective hearts were broken last Sunday, and they're still heavy today.” McGee added.

In what was their first home game played since Bryant's passing, the Lakers honored their iconic star with a video tribute before last week's matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers. Los Angeles also debuted a unique jersey patch in remembrance of Kobe.

LeBron James, who joined the Lakers in the 2018 offseason, stood before the crowd and delivered a tribute of his own:

The Lakers will be back in action on Tuesday night, when they'll serve as hosts to the San Antonio Spurs. Tip-off inside Staples Center is set for 10:00 p.m. ET, with TNT having live broadcast coverage.
