Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James has had a rough time shooting free throws in the clutch so far for his new team.

On October 22nd, with the Lakers up 142-141 against the San Antonio Spurs and 12.8 seconds were left in overtime, James missed two free throws that would have almost assured a Lakers victory or at least a second overtime period.

The Spurs went on to win the game after Patty Mills drained a jumper and James missed a long game-winner in a last-ditch redemption attempt.

Sunday night told a similar tale but had a happier ending for the King.

This time, the Lakers were down a point to the Atlanta Hawks and badly needed at least one free throw to deadlock the game. After taking a hard foul, James promptly stepped to the line and missed both free throws once again.

However, Kyle Kuzma was able to get a hand on the miss, tapping it once off the backboard before corraling it. Although Kuzma missed the ensuing flip shot, LeBron James had crashed the glass and slammed the ball home emphatically to give the Lakers the lead, hanging on the rim for several seconds after the clutch dunk.

Newest Laker Tyson Chandler then secured the win minutes later when he swatted a Trae Young floater out of the air as the Hawks players howled for a goaltending call.

The Lakers were able to escape with a win this time, but LeBron James will certainly beat himself up for failing to hit clutch free throws yet again.
